About Us > Meet the Staff at our Clinic
N'tuthu has a diploma in Nursing from Carinus Nursing College for General, Psychiatry, Community and Midwifery. She also has certificates in both the management of HIV related conditions and integrated HIV/AIDS treatment programs and ARVs. Previously, she worked as the Professional Head Nurse for Medicines San Frontiers (MSF) and the Post Rape Care Clinic, both in Khayelitsha. N'tuthu recently became a full time staff member in August 2009.
Nokwayiyo has a B.A. in Social Work from the University of Western Cape, as well as certificates in: the developmental assessment of children, youth and families; family preservation training; and assessment and therapy of child sexual abuse. Prior to working with Ubuntu, she was a social worker at the Masigcine Children's home and the Child Welfare Society. She is our newest staff member and joined the organization in 2009.
Nonceba has naturally assumed the role of staff leader; the rest of the staff looks to her for guidance and she ensures that all operations run smoothly at the center. She additionally has a number of impressive degrees: JPTD from the Good Hope College of Education; an HDE from the Cape Town College of Education; BED from the University of the Western Cape; and a postgraduate diploma in HIV/AIDS Management from University of Stellenbosch. Prior to beginning her career here at UBA, Nonceba was a teacher for 24 years.
Sophokazi completed high school in and is originally from Khayelitsha. She prepares food for all of the children every day and is also close with them.
Sylvester is a father figure and positive role model to the children at UBA. In addition to high school diploma, he has a certificate from the College of Cape Town from the FET Business Studies Department, and a Certificate on Peace, Human Rights and Anti-Racism Education training course. He is a certified soccer coach and is an active leader in his church.
Nkoliso has a high school diploma as well as a certificate in first aid. He takes care of maintaining the center during the school day but spends all of his time with the kids once they arrive. He teaches frequently and is very close with all of the kids.
